Titanium Modified

Si(Ti)BCN Ceramics from the Pyrolsysis fo Titanium-Modified Poly(boro)silazanes

Si(Ti)CN ceramics, known for their high hardness and touchness, find applications in protective coatings for marine engineering, cutting tools, and as substrates for diamond electrodes, as well as in high-temperature applications. They exhibit excellent seawater-lubricating behavior and resistance to wear and corrosion, making them suitable for marine components. Si(Ti)CN coatings resist crack initiation and propagation, which helps to restrain the combined effects of wear and pitting corrosion. Si(Ti)CN-based ceramics are also promising materials for semi-finishing and finishing cutting tools, especially for steel and cast iron, due to their high hardness, good thermal stability, and resistance to creep and wear.  They also show outstanding resistance to creep and oxidation at high temperatures and in harsh conditions, making them suitable for protective coatings and structural components.  They can also be used for high-temperature barrier coatings and structural components due to their excellent crystallization and oxidation resistance.
